THE HILLBILLY

2008-08-30 22:07:08

THE HILLBILLY VASECTOMY
After their 11th child, an Alabama couple decided that was enough as
they could not afford a larger bed.
So the husband went to his veterinarian and told him that he and his
cousin didn't want to have anymore children.
The doctor told him that there was a procedure called a vasectomy
that could fix the problem but that it was expensive. "A less
costly alternative," said the doctor, "is to go home, get a cherry
bomb, (fireworks are legal in Alabama) light it, put it in a beer can,
then hold the can up to your ear and count to 10."
The Alabamian said to the doctor, "I may not be the smartest tool in
the shed, but I don't see how putting a cherry bomb in a beer can
next to my ear is going to help me."
"Trust me," said the doctor.
So the man went home, lit a cherry bomb and put it in a beer can.
He held the can up to his ear and began to count...
"1"
"2"
"3"
"4"
"5"
At which point he paused, placed the beer can between his legs and
resumed counting on his other hand.
This procedure also works in Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas,
South Carolina, West Virginia and Georgia.

For those of you with animals or small children in the house ...... I
recently had a neighbor who had their 5-year old German shepherd dog put
down due to liver failure. The dog was completely healthy until a few
weeks
ago. They had a necropsy done to see what the cause was. The liver levels
were unbelievable, as if the dog had ingested poison of some kind. The
dog
is kept inside, and when he's outside, someone's with him, so the idea of
him getting into something unknown was hard to believe. My neighbor
started
going through all the items in the house. When he got to the Swiffer
Wetjet,
he noticed, in very tiny print, a warning which stated "may be harmful to
small children and animals." He called the company to ask what the
contents
of the cleaning agent are and was astounded to find out that antifreeze
is
one of the ingredients. (Actually he was told it's a compound which is
one
molecule away from antifreeze). Therefore, just by the dog walking on the
floor cleaned with the solution, then licking its own paws, it ingested
enough of the solution to destroy its liver. Soon after his dog's death,
his
housekeepers' two cats also died of liver failure.. They both used the
Swiffer Wetjet for quick cleanups on their floors. Necropsies weren't
done
on the cats, so they couldn't file a lawsuit, but he asked that we spread
the word .

I agree with the fact that the posts have been
far fewer than in the past and I too miss reading
them. I don't know if it's because of busy summertime
schedules or what, but for me, I think part of it is
Biggdoggiz' death. It seems that they dropped off about the
time we lost Chris. I am still trying to deal with
this and I can't come into the club and not think of
my friend. I try to maintain an upbeat, pleasant
demeanor, but the sadness is always there. I've never had
someone's death stay with me like this, even someone I knew
personally; I find it somewhat odd that the loss of someone I
DIDN'T know should have such an effect. Well, let's hope
most of the decline in posts was due to summer and now
they will pick back up again.<br

Don't Fart In Bed

2008-08-26 09:44:35

Don't Fart in Bed
If this story doesn't make you cry for laughing so
hard, let me know and I'll pray for you.
This is a story about a couple who had been happily
married for years.
The only friction in their marriage was the husband's
habit of farting loudly every morning when he awoke.
The noise would wake his wife and the smell would
make her eyes water and make her gasp for air.
Every morning she would plead with him to stop
ripping them off because it was making her sick. He
told her he couldn't stop it and that it was
perfectly natural. She told him to see a doctor; she
was concerned that one day he would blow his guts out.
The years went by and he continued to blast them out!
Then one Thanksgiving morning as she was preparing
the turkey for dinner and he was upstairs sound
asleep, she looked at the bowl where she had put the
turkey innards and neck, gizzard, liver and all the
spare parts and a malicious thought came to her.
She took the bowl and went upstairs where her husband
was sound asleep and, gently pulling back the bed
covers, she pulled back the elastic waistband of his
underpants and emptied the bowl of turkey guts into
his shorts.
Some time later she heard her husband waken with his
usual trumpeting which was followed by a blood
curdling scream and the sound of frantic footsteps as
he ran into the bathroom. The wife could hardly
control herself as she rolled on the floor laughing,
tears in her eyes! After years of torture she reckoned
she had got him back pretty good.
About twenty minutes later, her husband came
downstairs in his bloodstained underpants with a look
of horror on his face.
She bit her lip as she asked him what was the matter.
He said, "Honey, you were right." "All these years
you have warned me and I didn't listen to you."
"What do you mean?" asked his wife.
"Well, you always told me that one day I would end up
farting my guts out, and today it finally happened.
But by the grace of God, some Vaseline, and two
fingers, I think I got most of them back in."

HILARIOUS ADULT JOKES

2008-08-25 21:39:35

One day this old man was about to have sex with an eighteen-year-old
girl, who he did not know. The old man began to put on his condom
when the young girl asked him why is he putting one on.
She said "you don't have to worry about getting me pregnant because
you are too old and you don't have to worry about catching anything
because you are going to die pretty soon anyway".
The old man continued to put on his condom he then looked up at the
girl and said, "young girl the reason I am putting on this condom
isn't because I am afraid of getting you pregnant or catching
anything. I just like the scent of burning rubber."
A dead guy gets wheeled into a funeral home with an erection. The
funeral people say "we can't bury him this way." So they strap his
erection to his legs and both legs pop up.
"We can't bury him like this" so they unstrap it from his legs and
they tie it to his stomach and he sits up in the coffin. They undo
his erection and think about it for a few minutes and decide to call
his widow and ask her what to do.
She thinks about it and she tells them to cut it off and stick it in
his ass. They say what and she says, "You heard me." So they cut it
off and stick it up his ass.
The next day she comes to see him and he has a painful look on his
face and she bends downs and says, "Now you motherfucker, you know
how it feels!"
A man walks into a bar next to an extremely hot girl and immediately
looks at his watch. She says, ''Is your date late or something?''
He says, ''No I just got this magic watch.''
"What does your watch do that is so amazing?" asked the lady.
"It tells me what is happening."
"What does it say now asked the lady."
"It says you're not wearing panties."
"Well your watch is wrong, I do have panties on."
"Sorry, my watch is one hour fast."
One day there were two boys playing by a stream when they saw a woman
bathing naked. All of a sudden one of the boys took off running. The
other boy took off after his friend. After he caught up to him, he
asked why he ran away.
"Well," the boy said, "my mom told me that if I ever saw a naked lady
I would turn to stone, and I felt something getting hard so I ran."
A woman sends her clothing out to the dry cleaners. When it came back
there are still stains in her panties.
The next week she encloses a note to the laundryman that says, "Use
more soap on panties."
This goes on for several weeks, the woman sending the same note to
the laundry. "Use more soap on panties."
Finally fed up the man responded with his own note that said, "Use
more paper on ass!!!!!!!!!!!"
An older woman who'd just reached her 60's was gazing into her full
lenght mirror one night, and said to her husband "Dear, my skin is
wrinkling, my breasts are sagging to my waist, my rear end is nowhere
near the size it used to be, and my hair is turning grey. Tell me
something to make me feel better about myself."
Her husband replies, "Well, my darling, your eyesight is perfect!"

ADULT CONTENT JOKES

Hello Sailor.
After being under the Arctic Circle for 3 months, a sailor gets a 24
hour pass when they reach port. The first place he visits is a bar
where he proceeds to get hammered and passes out.
When he wakes up, he realizes he has one hour to make it back to the
sub. Desperate for a piece of pussy he asks the bartender where the
closest whore house is. The bartender says its only two doors down
but there's a long wait, being the only place in town.
The sailor in desperation calls for the madam and begs for special
consideration. Since he is still drunk, she asks him to wait and she
would see if Tina was awake.
The madam inflates a sex doll and comes down the stairs and tells the
sailor that Tina is awake, but is very tired and won't talk or move;
but its there if he wants it. The sailor agrees and runs upstairs,
undressing as he goes.
A few seconds later a loud scream is heard all over the house and the
sailor comes running down the stairs, yelling, "call 911!"
The madam asks about what happened, the sailor replies, "I walked
into the room she looked so good I bent over and bit her nipple. The
next thing I knew she farted and jumped out the window!"
Pick Ups and Put Downs
Man: Haven't I seen you someplace before?
Woman: Yes, that's why I don't go there anymore.
Man: Is this seat empty?
Woman: Yes, and this one will be if you sit down.
Man: Your place or mine?
Woman: Both. You go to yours, and I'll go to mine.
Man: So, what do you do for a living?
Woman: I'm a female impersonator.
Man: Hey baby, what's your sign?
Woman: Do not enter.
Man: How do you like your eggs in the morning?
Woman: Unfertilized.
Man: Your body is like a temple.
Woman: Sorry, there are no services today.
Man: I would go to the end of the world for you.
Woman: But would you stay there?
Man: If I could see you naked, I'd die happy.
Woman: If I saw you naked, I'd probably die laughing.

Again... No apologizes:)

The Lizard

2008-08-24 00:14:52

If you have raised kids (or been one), and gone through the pet syndrome
including toilet-flush burials for dead goldfish, the story below should have you laughing out LOUD!
I had to take my son's lizard to the vet.
Here's what happened:
Just after dinner one night, my son came up to tell me There was "something wrong" with one of the two lizards he holds prisoner in his room. "He's just lying there looking sick," he
told me. "I'm being serious, Dad. Can you help?" I put my best
lizard-healer _expression on my face and followed him into his bedroom. One of
the little lizards was indeed lying on his back, looking stressed.
I immediately knew what to do. "Honey," I called, "come look at the lizard!"
"Oh, my gosh," my wife diagnosed after a minute."She's having babies."
"What?" my son demanded. "But their names are Bert and Ernie, Mom!"
I was equally outraged. "Hey, how can that be? I thought we said we didn't want them to reproduce," I accused my wife.
"Well, what do you want me to do, post a sign in their cage?" she inquired. (I actually think she said this sarcastically!)
"No, but you were supposed to get two boys!" I reminded her, (in my most loving, calm, sweet voice, while gritting my teeth together).
"Yeah, Bert and Ernie!" my son agreed.
"Well, it's just a little hard to tell on some guys, you know," she informed me. (Again with the sarcasm, you think?)
By now the rest of the family had gathered to see what was going on. Ishrugged, deciding to make the best of it.
"Kids, this is going to be a wondrous experience," I announced. "We're
about to witness the miracle of birth."
"Oh, gross!" they shrieked
"Well, isn't THAT just great! What are we going to do with a litter of
tiny little lizard babies?" my wife wanted to know. (I really do think she was being snotty here, too. ( Don't you?)
We peered at the patient. After much struggling, what looked like a tiny
foot would appear briefly, vanishing a scant second later.
"We don't appear to be making much progress," I
noted. "It's breech," my wife whispered, horrified.
"Do something, Dad!" my son urged.
"Okay, okay." Squeamishly, I reached in and grabbed the foot when it
next appeared, giving it a gingerly tug. It disappeared.
I tried several more times with the same results. "Should I call 911,"
my eldest daughter wanted to know."Maybe they could talk us through the trauma." (You see a pattern here with the females in my house?)
"Let's get Ernie to the vet," I said grimly. So we drove to the vet with my son holding the cage in his lap. "Breathe, Ernie, breathe," he urged.
"I don't think lizards do Lamaze," his mother noted to him. (Women can be so cruel to their own young. I mean what she does to me is one thing, but this boy is of her womb, for Pete's sake.)
The Vet took Ernie back to the examining room and peered at the little animal through a magnifying glass.
"What do you think, Doc, a C-section?" I suggested scientifically.
"Oh, very interesting," he murmured. "Mr. and Mrs.Cameron, may I speak to you privately for a moment?" I gulped, nodding for my son to step outside.
"Is Ernie going to be okay?" my wife asked.
"Oh, perfectly," the Vet assured us. "This lizard is not in labor. In
fact, that isn't EVER going to happen... Ernie is a boy. You see, Ernie is a young male. And occasionally, as they come into maturity, like most male species, they um...um... masturbate. Just the way he did, lying on his back." He blushed, glancing at my wife. "Well,
you know what I'm saying, Mr. Cameron...!"
We were silent, absorbing this. "So Ernie's just...just... excited," my
wife offered.
"Exactly," the vet replied, relieved that we understood. More silence.
Then my vicious, cruel wife started to giggle. And giggle. And then even laugh loudly.
"What's so funny?" I demanded, knowing, but not believing that the woman I married would commit the upcoming affront to my flawless manliness. Tears were now running down her face.
"It's just... that... I'm picturing you pulling on its... its... teeny
little...." she gasped for more air to bellow in laughter once more.
"That's enough," I warned. We thanked the Vet and hurriedly bundled the lizards and our son back into the car. He was glad everything was going to be okay.
"I know Ernie's really thankful for what you've done, Dad," he told me.
"Oh, you have NO idea," my wife agreed, collapsing with laughter.
2 Lizards - $140... 1 Cage - $50... Trip to the Vet - $30...Memory of your husband pulling on a lizard's pecker.....
Priceless!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the prayers

We are home from the hospital. Everything went
really well. The trial for the baclofen pump was a
success this time. She had the pump put in on Friday and
is doing real good. Her muscles are weak and she
will need a lot of therapy to strenghten them. Right
now she is happy that everything worked out and
thanks everyone for their prayers.<br
are much looser now and that will keep her from
needing further surgeries due to the tightening of
muscles that happens in people with CP. It will also make
it easier getting her dressed since her legs won't
be so tight. <br
she had two years ago is that now they can place the
catheter higher in the spine so the baclofen will help
relieve spasticty in the upper extremities as well as the
lower. Two years ago they only placed the cath to help
with the lowerer extremities. So we really got a
better deal by having had the first trial bomb out on
us. When God closes a door He opens a window. Thank
God we saw that open window. <br
everyone for your prayers. Keep praying though because she
has a lot of therapy ahead of her.<br

Danish erks for the disabed

2008-08-22 21:46:22

Danes provide prostitutes for the disabled
The Danish government is under attack for paying for its disabled
citizens to have sex with prostitutes.
The official 'Sex, irrespective of disability' campaign pays sex
workers to provide sex once a month for disabled people.
The legal guidelines advise: "It could be of great importance that
the carer speaks to the prostitute together with the person in their
care, to help them express their wishes."
But opposition parties have attacked the regulations, claiming it is
an immoral way of spending tax-payers' money.
Social-Democrat spokesperson Kristen Brosboel said: "We spend a
large proportion of our taxes rescuing women from prostitution. But
at the same time we officially encourage carers to help contact with
prostitutes."
But Stig Langvad of the country's Disabled Association said the
politicians critical of the plan are showing "double standards".
He said: "The disabled must have the same possibilities as other
people. Politicians can debate whether prostitution should be
allowed in general, instead of preventing only the disabled from
having access to it."

In response to your question about the clinton glory years, read it and weep.

***US economic data are in and theyre smokin. Third-quarter economic growth increased at a 4.3% annual rate from July through September, notwithstanding heck, high oil and high water.
This is an interesting thing thats going on right now: Those countries clamoring most loudly about the patent unfairness of US economic policy are busy downgrading their growth projections quarter after quarter. The US Commerce Department is upgrading in this case from earlier estimates of 3.8%.
GDP growth in the US thus has come in at above 3% rate for 10 straight quarters - the longest streak of its kind since the 13 quarters ending March 1986.
Even so, polls show many Americans still perceive the economy as weak. A survey released November 28 by the Manchester, New Hampshire, American Research Group found that 43% of those questioned said the economy was in a recession, while 44% said it wasnt.
Business fixed investment, such as spending on commercial construction, rose at a robust 8.8% annual rate for a second straight quarter. The government estimated last month that such investment rose at a 6.2% pace. Spending on equipment and software even rose at a 10.8% clip.
Sorry, bears: This means the US economy still has a long way to go before it catches up with the dire predictions.

Requesting Prayers

2008-08-19 22:17:17

Next week my daughter will be having the trial
procedure to see if she can get the baclofen pump. Her name
is Elizabeth for those of you who don't already
know. Will you all remember her in your prayers. She
has Cerebral Palsy and the baclofen would help to
relieve the spasticity in her legs. I will be gone all of
next week with her to San Antonio. If all goes well
she will be able to get the punmp on Friday.

Re: Has anyone heard of this one??

I had never heard of that surgery but you can be
sure I will read up on it. As for taking bone from
your hip I know about that. They used bone from my hip
to replace the shattered bone in my neck.<br
wish you luck. My prayers will be with
you.<br

Has anyone heard of this one??

2008-08-19 12:13:50

I'm going in for a discetomy...anterior removal
of my C5-6 disk..And orthopedic surgeon said that
because I smoke I cant use bone from a bone bank It has
to be from my hip.. If I use bone from the B/B I
would have to wear a collar for up to 6 MONTHS ! and
that the fusion percentage would be 80 0/0 than from
the hip! Has anyone heard of this before?? please
post to let me know.<br

Girls Night Out - HER STORY

2008-08-18 21:56:09

The other night I was invited out for a night with "the girls." I told my husband that I would be home by midnight, "I promise!" Well, the hours passed and the champagne was going down way too easy.
Around 3 a.m., drunk as a skunk, I headed for home. Just as I got in the door, the cuckoo clock in the hall started up and cuckooed 3 times. Quickly, realizing he'd probably wake up, I cuckooed another 9 times. I was really proud of myself for coming up with such a quick-witted solution (even when smashed), in order to escape a possible conflict with him.
The next morning my husband asked me what time I got in, and I told him 12:00. He didn't seem disturbed at all. Whew! Got away with that one! Then he said, "We need a new cuckoo clock." When I asked him why, he said, "Well, last night our clock cuckooed three times, then said, 'oh no', cuckooed 4 more times, cleared its throat, cuckooed another 3 times, giggled, cuckooed twice more, and then tripped over the cat and farted."

Re: ATV Chair:)

2008-08-18 16:17:25

Well more power to her, she's not letting the fact that shes in a
chair stop her from doing what she ikes to do. In the past I myself
used to like going out on frozen mornings and sliding around on
frozen puddles. As long as the batterus are charged up drive it
till the wheels fall off.

Re: [Spinalcordinjury] ATV Chair:)

2008-08-18 12:51:14

And your point is??

If youu need to get something done, you go do it. I can see if there was a major snowstorm brewing but an 1" of snow? C'mon man. At least she had her hat and her orange flag on so people knew she was there

ATV Chair:)

2008-08-18 07:43:49

There is a elderly woman that lives near where I work that goes everywhere
in her regular electric chair. Every once in a while I will look out our
store's window and will see her rolling across our parking lot, heading
for the grocery store a distance on the other side of where our building
is. Her chair equiped with a orange flag on a stick attached to her chair.
Last night we had about a inch of snow, but this did not stop this woman.
I looked out this morning and there she was all bundled up heading across
the parking lot.
THERE IS NO STOPPING HER!!!:)

Hello my name is Rick. I was wondering if there were any quadriplegics
on this board who have had the "superpubic" procedure and what types of
problems they may have had with it. I'm currently having trouble with
my "super pubic" and I have so much feeling that it is very painful for
me to be catheterized through the penis (ouch)!! We chose to use the
super pubic and now it is starting to cause a lot of trouble.
There are only two more procedures left for them to try and they
sound very scary. One procedure was to take part of my intestine and
reconstruct a larger bladder for me with a stoma in my side to be
catheterized through. The other was procedure to completely remove
muscle that holds back the urine in the bladder. Then I would have to
wear a " condom catheter" which would continuously drain into a leg
bag. I'm very much in pain and had autonomic disreflexia severely last
night. I'm very concerned and any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Sincerely, Rick

I found this group to be a bunch of whiners about how bad life is for them. When I disagreed strongly, I got banned by the owner Joe, who goes by the id chris123@.... Don't bother with them.

"Overall, the American public has an overly
optimistic view of cancer treatment. The reason, I think, is
due in part to the widespread publicity of treatments
of non-cancer problems. For example, it seems like
every week you read or see heroic tales like the
multiple-transplant patient who goes on to win a gold medal at the
Goodwill Games or the North Dakota farmer who's back on
the tractor after doctors reattached his arm and legs
following a farm accident. People bring the same
expectations generated by these marvelous accomplishments to
the cancer arena, but you can't always do that.
You're comparing pickles and Cadillacs." Guess I got
stuck with the pickle...But gee.. I always wanted a
cadillac..Guess that answers the question in my mind as to why
they can do such marvelous things at times and yet not
be able to help some of us with our medical

Stem cell hub opened in Korea

2008-08-10 00:18:45

People I have come across a potential lifesaver for people that are
suffering from spinal cord injury and Parkinson diseases.
http://www.worldstemcellhub.org are accepting applications of a
patient expecting to participate in the clinical research of
intractable diseases and manages overall procedure before collecting
somatic cells from the patient.
My aunt sent me an article about this place, and I would want to share
it with you guys. I wouldn't want anyone to be in the same boat as me,
but you guys can be prepared for the uncertain future. If you or a
loved one is suffering form these problems, I would suggest that you
guys visit this site and fill the registration form. Since my
accident, I have been advising people not to drink and drive, but they
still do it. The sad part is that my close friends and family member
are still drinking and driving, I can't stop them, but I would never
stop my mission to educate the ignorant. " It wouldn't happen to me"
don't be to sure about that, when bad times comes, there is no device
made to forecast it.
Anyways, presently, the research on the stem cell therapy is being
performed and not completed yet, even if it is a promising technology.
The stem cell therapy does not treat diseases in this stage and is not
applied to all the diseases. The participant may make a final
decision, after being examined with several tests for a bodily
condition. Then, the somatic cells will be collected from the
participant by a relatively simple operation and continue to be
maintained in our Hub.

Hi All, been awhile since I replied to any mail, but figured I need to start again. This summer has really been a crazy one, my daughters trailer caught fire, she was only one hurt, but has finally healed from burns, (ouch). And my son in law got pnemonia, my husband got stomach bug and we think all came from one of grandkids. Wow!! Alot more but too much to bore ya'll with, oh yes let's not forget hurricanes, LOUISIANA, gotta love your state,HAAAAA. Was wanting to put my 2 cents in on person who was asking if any others had stories of how they got hurt and how do we cope. Well it has been 31 years fo me, and will say some days are easier than others, but if you can handle this life you can handle just about anything. REASON TO BELIEVE!! I was in car accident that broke my back in 2 places, neck in 3, collaspe lung and 20 stitches, but somehow I made it. Had a 3 year old at time and few years later a daughter and son was born, now I enjoy my 4 beautiful grandkids and just
keep doing what it is to do to survive this lifestyle. Sure it's hard, but if you want to make it you can, email me anytime anyone, we have to continue staying in touch with other paras, so we will understand this life we have now. Sorry this was sooooooooooooooooo long, hubby tells me I write as I talk , nonstop. Hey Gina, will holler soon, take care. From what I remember my back was T2&3 and neck not too sure, but do know docs were surprised I could use my arms, and this all happen in 1974, I was 21.

Hope to chat soon, Theresa
Shawn Brasuell <shawndoe71@...

I wasn't in an automobile accident...however I was in a car wreck that was due to drinking and driving. It was not an accident that me and my friend made the decision to drink and then get in a car and drive at a high rate of speed...no accident to that, it was a stupid choice.

We were both thrown from the car...my friend who was driving was killed and I'm now a T 4-5 para. I was also in a coma for 11 days with a brain injury with temporary short term memory loss which I fully recovered from thankfully.

If any questions from anybody don't hesitate to ask, I'm very open to talk about what I went through.

What is a Granparent??

2008-08-07 21:09:27

WHAT IS A GRANDPARENT?
YOU'VE GOT TO READ THIS...IT IS PRICELESS!!!
(taken from papers written by a class of 8-year-olds)
Grandparents are a lady and a man who have no little children of her own. They like other people's.
A grandfather is a man grandmother.
Grandparents don't have to do anything except be there when we come to see them. They are so old they shouldn't play hard or run. It is good if they drive us to the store and have lots of quarters for us.
When they take us for walks, they slow down past things like pretty leaves and caterpillars.
They show us and talk to us about the color of the flowers and also why we shouldn't step on "cracks."
They don't say, "Hurry up."
Usually grandmothers are fat, but not too fat to tie your shoes.
They wear glasses and funny underwear.
They can take their teeth and gums out.
Grandparents don't have to be smart.
They have to answer questions like, "why isn't God married?" and "How come dogs chase cats?"
When they read to us, they don't skip. They don't mind if we ask for the same story over again.
Everybody should try to have a grandmother, especially if you don't have television, because they are the only grown ups who like to spend time with us.
They know we should have snack-time before bedtime and they say prayers with us every time, and kiss us even when we've acted bad.
A 6 YEAR OLD WAS ASKED WHERE HIS GRANDMA LIVED. ''OH,'' HE SAID, ''SHE LIVES AT THE AIRPORT, AND WHEN WE WANT HER WE JUST GO GET HER. THEN WHEN WE'RE DONE HAVING HER VISIT, WE TAKE HER BACK TO THE AIRPORT.''
Send this to other grandparents. It will make their day

Hey All

2008-08-07 19:25:07

Well I finally got things back in order, my
floors are finished and i just have to get the dogs used
to it now.. they are afraid of the hardwood floor in
the bedroom.. But I love it, so much easier to push
the wheelchair on then the old rug that was in there.
Hope you all had a great holiday weekend talk to you

LET'S SEE IF YOU SEND THIS BACK

2008-08-05 23:58:00

One day, when I was a freshman in high school,
I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school.
His name was Kyle.
It looked like he was carrying all of his
books.
I thought to myself, "Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday?
He must really be a nerd."
I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.
As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him.
They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt.
His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him.
He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes
My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him and as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye.
As I handed him his glasses, I said, "Those guys are jerks.
They really should get lives.
" He looked at me and said, "Hey thanks!"
There was a big smile on his face.
It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude.
I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived.
As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before.
He said he had gone to private school before now.
I would have never hung out with a private school kid before.
We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books.
He turned out to be a pretty cool kid.
I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friends.
He said yes.
We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him.
Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again.
I stopped him and said, "Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday!
" He just laughed and handed me half the books.
Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends.
When we were seniors, we began to think
about college.
Kyle decided on Georgetown, and I
was going to Duke.
I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem.
He was going to be a doctor, and I was going for business on a football scholarship.
Kyle was valedictorian of our class.
I teased him all the time about being a nerd.
He had to prepare a speech for graduation.
I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak
Graduation day, I saw Kyle.
He looked great.
He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school.
He filled out and actually looked good in glasses.
He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him.
Boy, sometimes I was jealous.
Today was one of those days.
I could see that he was nervous about his speech.
So, I smacked him on the back and said, "Hey, big guy, you'll be great!"
He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled.
"Thanks," he said.
As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began
"Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years.
Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach...but mostly your friends...
I am here to tell all of you that being a
friend to someone is the best gift you can give them.
I am going to tell you a story."
I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the story of the first day we met.
He had planned to kill himself over the weekend.
He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home.
He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile.
"Thankfully, I was saved.
My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable."
I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment.
I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile.
Not until that moment did I realize it's depth.
Never underestimate the power of your actions.
With one small gesture you can change a person's life.
For better or for worse.
God puts us all in each other's lives to impact one another in some way.
Look for God in others.
You now have two choices, you can:
1) Pass this on to your friends or
2) Delete it and act like it didn't touch your heart.
As you can see, I took choice number 1.
"Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly."
There is no beginning or end.. Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is mystery.
Today is a gift.
It's National Friendship Week. Show your friends how much you care.
If it comes back to you, then you'll know you have a circle of friends.
